Since 2012, we have been praying for our marriages together.
Our History
It all started with two sisters in the Fall of 2012 who were looking for marriage support. At that time, the younger sister needed help and prayer support for herself and marriage. She had found herself in a funk. As the story goes, the older one challenged the younger one to start a group to get what she was missing. They figured that if they needed marriage support and other women who would commit to praying for their marriages, maybe other women need the same thing. This group became a safe place for women to get marriage support and pray for their husbands. We started with nine faithful, married ladies who committed to meet twice a month and “Shut-up and pray” (this is a motto adopted from Stormy Omartian’s book “The Power of a Praying Wife”). Over the years, we had wives come and go. We gradually expanded and now have several groups throughout the West Orlando area and are now a 501(c)(3) non profit. Our name comes from our group verse 1 Thessalonians 5:17- "Never Stop Praying"
Our Mission
Changing marriages through the power of prayer
Five: Seventeen is a group for married women in their mid 20's-mid 40's. Our mission is to be a group of women that love, support, and pray expectantly for each other and our marriages as we strive to honor God with our marriages and lives. We do that through praying together and engaging in simple studies. We meet twice a month. When we get together, we talk about what’s going on in our lives, faith, marriages, and families in an authentic and real way. We support, listen, and pray for each other.

Our Values
Focus on Prayer
Our mission is to be a group of women that love, support, and pray expectantly for each other and our marriages as we strive to honor God with our marriages and lives.
Authenticity
Leaders of Five: Seventeen lead from brokenness and authenticity. Five: Seventeen is an environment where people are comfortable sharing what’s really going on so they can get support, Biblical based wisdom, and prayer.
Commitment
Our groups stay on mission when we commit to make it to group, read the content, apply the content, hold each other accountable, pray for each other and our empty chairs. Change and growth happens when group members show up and pray.
Simple Studies
Our aim to is become better wives, mothers, and women of Christ through simple studies that point us back to the Bible and God.
Empty Chairs
We keep our arms wide open to any woman who needs prayer support and Christian faith-based community, regardless of their background or faith.
New vs Old
We encourage old group members to open up to new group members about their struggles like they would with their dearest friend. This is the quickest and easiest way to make people feel welcomed, included, and to foster authenticity.
